Yay, soo exciting! you moving in today aswell?! I remember crapping myself going up the drive worried that the old owner might still be in and be completely unaware we wanted to move in that day, fortunately the house was empty then came the wandering round aimlessly for about 4 hours having completely forgot what it was like from the viewings. Have fun!
We completed about 1pm0 -
I can't remember what time we completed on our last house:(.
So I'll just say congratulations:D:beer:.0 -
Congratulations
All I can say is put your phone on ring AND vibrate. I managed to miss the call entirely, but I got the voicemail about an hour after the official stuff was done. It was about 2pm(ish). If you havnt heard by then, it's probably worth giving them a ring to find out where you are up to.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it

We completed on Friday and got the call by 1030am! Was there picking up the keys @ 1035! Haha.
Congrats on your new home!0 -
My solicitor was so useless they didn't even bother to call to tell me we had completed. I found out almost half an hour after the rest of the chain knew, from the estate agent.
You usually can aim to pick up the keys at about 2pm.0 -

It will largely depend on how long the chain is and where you are in it. FTB is likely to be the start of the chain so provided your mortgage company got the money in either yesterday or overnight, you solicitor should be able to send it on first thing this morning, and once the vendors solicitor knows they have got it, you will have completed and the keys can be released. No reason why you couldn't complete pretty early unless your solicitor or mortgage company create a hold up.Adventure before Dementia!0

Our solicitor also forgot to ring:mad:
We found out by calling them around midday and apparantly it had happened at 11am...annoyingly we only got our keys at 8pm because the elderly people moving out hadn't realised how much stuff they had and took ages to get out. They knew we weren't in a chain though so we didn't hassle them and in return they had a professional cleaner go over the whole place as they were moving out and we moved the next day into a sparkling, clean new home...(except for the smell of dog which lingered for weeks)
Congratulations - it's so much fun stepping back in for the first time!0
