Disabled parking bay markings outside home - where would it be?

My house is the second from the end of terraced houses. There is a side road. The double yellow lines goes around the corner and stops in front of the end house. So when my neighbour parks in front of his house his car is partly in front of my house. In another words our cars are not parked in front of our houses but are offset. If i were to apply for a disabled parking bay will the markings be directly in front of my house which will prevent my neighbour from parking his car or will it be offset?
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems
Well at least i learn something on the way

Being disabled does not automatically mean that you will get a space but if you do it would probably be right outside your house, it wont be exclusively yours as anyone with a badge would be allowed to park in it.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

Agreed on all points, the chances of getting a disabled parking space nowadays are slim to zero. As to where they will put it, this is up to the individual council. There was one next door at my old house, and that was positioned so there was in effect only half a space in front.0 -

I am aware that anyone with a disabled badge can use the bay.Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problemsWell at least i learn something on the way

Could you actually ask if it could be offset, I'm presuming you are being kind and dont want your neighbour to be inconvenienced,
I mean, it wouldnt be any skin off their noses, would it.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

You could try speaking to them about it and agreeing a position for the space before approaching the council.0

I have neighbours like you, I try to be very hard to be a neighbour like you.
I just wish everybody were exactly the same, the workl woud be a better place to live in.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

When I got one, the guy from the council asked where we wanted it.
In Paris, they put them on the end, nearest the corner. This would be easiest for both of you, I would have thought. OK, so you park outside each other's house, but there's no chance of you taking up too much of a space for him to get in.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

I suppose it depends on where you live. My council is quite accommodating. I know several people who have disabled bays outside their houses, and my son's OT suggested that we apply for one outside ours. I haven't bothered though, because most houses in my street have driveways and I am the only person at my end of the road who parks on the road, so there is always plenty of space. Ours is the only house without a driveway
My friend's daughter is disabled and not only did the council paint a disabled space outside their house, they also paved a small area of the grass verge so that her daughter doesn't slip on it when she gets out of the car.0 -
The parking ourside our house is awful, always arguments between neighbour. The council dropped our kerb so we could get the wheelchair in but people kept parking over it so they put a drive down and a H bar across the opening.september wins - toshiba laptop, timotei shampoo & conditioner, mccains games, pimms picnic blanket.
