Applecare versus Barclays Extended Warranty

I wondered if anyone has any experience of the Barclays Extended Warranty that comes free with their plus accounts? I bought an Ipad with Applecare a few weeks ago and have just found out that I could have extended warranty with Barclays and maybe cancel the Applecare. Is there anything that is covered is not covered that is under Applecare? I cant see it in any of the paperwork if there is. I have already registered the Ipad for Barclays free Gadget Insurance.

The answer to your question depends, to some extent, on whether, should you have technical problems with your iPad, you feel you would have a better chance of getting it fixed or replaced on the spot, over the counter, at an Apple Store or at a branch of Barclays Bank.

The first year of Applecare comes free with the device. I’m not sure whether you actually can cancel extended Applecare and obtain a refund, once you have paid for it. (Even if your iPad gets stolen or destroyed, subsequent to its purchase.)

Certainly, in the latter scenario you might get more joy from Barclays – you'd get none from Apple.
