I like zoopla, it seems to get house prices pretty much spot on in our neck of the woods (oop North!). Either that or our local estate agents just look up on zoopla what the house is worth and then market it near the exact same price ;)
Sold our house 2 years back for £163k when zoopla had it down as £160k, and the house we are about to buy (fingers crossed) is going through within 10k of zooplas estimate.
I do accept the fact that it may be wildly out in areas down South though, the property market down there seems to have a mind of its own!

Indeed! If it was true - sad that a cop feels the need to make false accusations.

brit is just a little sore that I (and at least 20 other posters) regularly rip apart his inarticulate rants over on the Debate House Prices board.

My favourite brit post has to be the one from early 2009, when he asserted that house prices would be down 50% from peak by that Christmas. In actuality, they rose 15%

    Unlucky!!!

Poor old brit - glad to see that he finally plans to buy in 2012 though.

Shame he didn't do it years ago - he'd have saved a fortune on (a) rent increases, and (b) medication

    ;)
