Making a 2nd claim on the same PPI!

Hi there,
Thanks for taking to the time to read this.

I'll give you a brief outline of events then pose my question:

- Oct 2006 I took out a loan with PPI
- Sep 2009 made a claim for a mis-sold PPI (using the templates on here :) )
- Feb 2010 received a BACS credit for the PPI payments (no extra for interest) to date and was advised by the loan company to continue making the PPI payments so that I could claim the cash back at the 5yr point, which I did.
- Oct 2011 received a cash back cheque from the loan company.
- Dec 2011 I paid the loan off.

Q. Am I able to make a second claim on the PPI for the payments from Feb 2010 - Oct 2011? and has this happened to anyone else?

Correspondence with the company does not seem to state that I can't!

Hope this doesn't sound greedy as I have already had a successful claim, but if I am entitled to claim then I will!

Thanks again for taking the time to read and consider a reply :) x

  • Going by what has happened with the endowment review, your original complaint would be deemed to represent a belief by you that the policy was not worth having.

You are going to have a hard time persuading FOS that you are not being greedy - not to mention unreasonable!

It would seem you've already been paid from Feb 2010 to Oct 2011 with the cashback cheque?

It seems the loan company has been very fair with you. They've refunded you premiums and advised you to keep paying so you can get another payment for the cashback. You might have cancelled the PPI (out of your own choice) and lost the cashback.

Since you've already complained about it being missold, you seem to have been fully aware of the terms, conditions and cost of the policy at the time when you decided to continue paying.

Therefore, it's rather difficult to see any grounds for making a further complaint.
  • Thank you for your replies.

I've had comments made to me (not on here!) that I should make another claim. I knew I would get an sensible reply here that are in line with my thoughts, so will go with your judgments.

    Thanks again :)
