Which combi boiler to buy?

Options
Hi,

I have very old storage heating system along with cylinder type yellow electric boiler. I would like the system to gas operated central heating ASAP.

I checked the prices in various and found some prices very high especially copper pipe 22mm 10pcs 3m long was for £90 at local shop and £150 at wickes. ARe the cheaper stuff bad quality or all pipes are from same source?

Can you recommend a good around 32 kw boiler? I have been looking at ferrori from wickes and biasi riva from screwfix.

Thanks

deciding which combi boiler to install is as easy as this,

    £ 600 combi 2 year guarantee,

    £ 1200 combi 5 year guarantee,

the £ 1200 combi has a longer guarantee
a 1 in 500 chance of the circuit board going
rather than 1 in 200 on the cheaper one
    and other components,

my best advice to you is buy the cheap one
    and start colecting spare parts
    and stay in this forum

any appliance in the the home seems complicated

How about copper pipes? do you buy cheap and get cheap or ? they all the same quality?

yorkshire imi copper is the best its thick and hard to bend for an inexperienced user,
however if you solder fittings corectly,
with powerflow flux meduim heat, with lead free solder,
    you will be fine,
system cleansiness is ultra important, new radvalves ect,
    fernox f3 and then f1

to flush then inhibit " the system "

wocester bosch leads " others follow "

if you buy a cheap b&q or screwfix combi

buy a rapitest multimeter and some spares for it

clean your existing or new system with fernox f3

and then keep fernox f1 in the system/pipes

it reduces scale and pays for itself fernox f1 is a miracle
    on clean and dirty pipes
£15 both bottles on e-bay inc delivery
or £ 40 for both screwfix

recently on a d.i y. morning program on the tv ,i saw a boiler with speedfit,
plastic fittings conected to it,temporarily hopefully

as an ex teacher i know plastic/speedfit fittings have a 100 degrees centigrade " limit "
its clearly marked on the pipe,if the boiler went into fault conditions " the pipes would burst "
at the electrical boiler and may burn the house down......hello ...........

    valliant and wocester bosch cost

but if you use a calculator

and are able to use a multimeter " which is not rocket science "

cheap combis " do pay dividends "

its not the " combi "
the end users system has to be " right "

Why a Combi boiler? 32Kw is a pretty big boiler, how do you know that is the size you need?
How many Bathrooms in the house, how many people?

Answers to these questions are critical in deciding whether a combi or conventional condensing boiler is best for your home.
