Missing D Drive

Just tried looking for some letters that were on my D drive. There's nothing showing up. The drive appears empty. I've looked on my computer, tried, system info and searching. There is nothing on the drive. There should be lots of music and photos etc.
Its Windows XP, service pack 3 with an extra drive (D) built in. Drive D is showing no bytes, completely empty.

Try

My Computer > Tools > View
then check the 'Show hidden files and Folders' button

Thanks, showing hidden files but still nothing there. Not sure how long they've been missing as I haven't needed them for a while.

Reboot might just found the drive again .

Go to Computer Management \ Storage \ Disk Management. You should be able to see all your drives there, formatted or otherwise.

If you still can't see it, reboot and then press the appropriate F key when booting up to access your BIOS. You should then be able to see all physical hard drives.

What do you see if you do what Omar Little suggested?

Can you see the drive? Is it formatted? Does it still show up as empty in Disk Management?

Can you not restore them from your back up? You do have a back-up of your data?

open My Computer, right click your and go to properties. It'll come up with the general tab open and a pie chart of your drive.
Above it, it'll show used space and free space with the pie chart showing the capacity. How does that look? what size is it and how much space is used.

Thanks, its back. It shows up as drive d (e), this wasn't showing yesterday. As for back up whats's the best way for me to back up?

if all your data is on that drive, i'd go for an external drive and just copy and paste.

You can use Windows backup or other backup utilities but I just prefer a simple copy and paste.
