How do I go about finding grants for walls insulated?

Hi
Dont know if anyone can help me
We live in a 2 bed semi and our gas/electric costings are extremely high. We are in 24/7 as Im disabled and dont get out much, so I suppose we use alot more than an average family. We have a thermostat set at between 17-19c, so not really hot but our monthly dd's are £125:eek:
The loft has been insulated by our HA but I didnt know if we could get the walls filled (is that correct?) I am sure we loose alot of heat through the walls, so this would be great if it could be done.
How do I go about finding out if the house is suitable for this? Would we qualify for a grant as we are on benefits? We are with Powergen and Npower I think. How do I contact?
Would the walls make a difference? I am sat here freezing ATM. We have DG but the front door is wooden and we really need to consider paying out for a DG one as the HA wont do it.
We will be moving companies soon, just waiting on my next bill to work out total yearly consumption, but I make it too 9500 for electric (was 12500 2 years ago, so have done well bringing this down even though its still high) and gas is about 25000 (was 28000, so again reduced this:D )
Any help would be greatly appreciated:D

You need to calculate if the DD is appropriate. You could be over paying on your yearly consumption.Penny-Pincher!! wrote:How do I go about finding out if the house is suitable for this?
You need to get a survey done.Penny-Pincher!! wrote:Would we qualify for a grant as we are on benefits? We are with Powergen and Npower I think. How do I contact?

Cavity Wall Insulation
IMHO, stick with the wooden door but add draft exclusion.0
