Save money on existing AA membership
Having just bought AA membership as a Christmas gift for a friend, I asked the customer services representative to check my own existing policy details whilst on the call. I was surprised to find that as an existing member I was paying £16.81 a month, whilst the equivalent cover as a new customer was less than £11 a month.
I was transferred to the cancelations department, who quickly reduced my payments for the remainder of the policy to match the current "new customer" price. They did explain a couple of benefits to which I am entitled which are not available to new customers (legal cover, discount on new tyres) but as I was unaware of these and unlikely to make use of them anyway I thought they were irrelevant. In any case I retained these benefits and got my price matched!
Over a year I will now save around £60. I was advised to call again when my membership is due for renewal so the discount can be reapplied. Well worth doing though, only took 2 minutes.
Hope some more of you will check your current membership against equivalent "new" cover and save yourselves some cash!
