Is it possible to be too tight!

I think my house is probably colder than many people's,but I would rather put an extra layer of clothes on than turn the heating on.
I live on my own and I really don't seem to feel the cold as much as other people,I think it is an age thing lol.I admit I don't put the heating on that much mainly because I am tight, but it is also an enviromental thing and I think that houses that are too hot are stuffy and unhealthy.
I find that when I go to my son's to visit, their house has the heating blasting away 24 hours a day and it makes me feel ill,I have to keep going outside to cool off.I know there are 2 small children in the house, but my eldest grandson has always got a cold during the winter months and I am sure it is because the house is too hot. When they visit me,I feel obliged to have the heating on more, but as soon as they leave, off it goes.
I grew up during the 50's and 60's in a freezing cold old farmhouse with no central heating so perhaps I am just hardier than a lot of folks.
I know I am always pleased when my gas bill arrives and it is lower than I expected,so I am happy to be a bit chilly and just put an extra layer on.0 -
