Wrongly redirected post

I am not sure where the right place to put this is but here goes:
I've received a couple of letters that have been redirected by royal mail to my house that aren't for anyone living here or even anyone we know. They are sent from the same area I get my re-directed post from which is making me wonder if something hasn't gone wrong with the sorting office (I haven't had any redirected post in ages but then I have told everyone I can think of).
I am going to send what I have received back and write on the envelope that they have been wrongly redirected but what do I do if it keeps happening? There is some poor person who is missing a large tax refund from HMRC (you couldn't see who it was for until you opened it
)
