In the new book there should be loads.GlasgowSwan wrote:Here is an idea.
If anyone finds one of these in their book then post the details on this thread. That way we can all get points asap.
We were offered a pretty good deal by Thompson to advertise with them for the next edition, this Nectar promotion was really tempting - but Yell gave us a far better deal.
The numbers to look out for will be in normal adverts for businesses. Just look out for the Nectar logo (quite small - in the advert itself), the number is an 0845... one.
Given that the promotion is quite tempting to businesses, there should be loads this time round.
For the West Midlands, distribution starts roughly May - July '07'I love being married. It's so great to find the one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life' :heartpuls0 -
You haven't got the 2007 directory yet.
The 2007 Leeds directory with all the Nectar advertisers will be published in December.Erinath wrote:It was the same for me, I e-mailed Thomson & they told me it's because the 2007 directory for my area (Leeds) was printed in 20060 -

If anyone could post the details that would be gr8 as my area isn't covered so we don't get them for some reason??0 -
North Hampshire doesn't come out til August. I've made a note in my calendar to keep an eye out, though. Will definitely post the numbers I find on here, too.0

It's not premium rate. The number will always be 0845..
Once a business signs up to advertise with Thompsons, they are given an 0845 number that redirects to their own number.
Eg. my usual number is 0121 123 4567
my 0845 number will be something like 0845 11 11 11 (or whatever I'm allocated). calls will be redirected to my usual number.
The caller is just charged local rate - (from landlines, beware the some mobile companies might not charge that rate, and you might not be able to use free minutes on 0845 too).

Hi all,
You can actually search the directory and get instructions on how to get the Nectar points on their website now: www.thomsonlocal.com

No, the caller ISN'T charged local rate, they are charged LO-Call rate - though they are even dropping that title too.
Many people have inclusive calls packages where you get calls to 01, 02 and 03 numbers included the 0845 numbers aren't usually covered.
From a BT line the most you have to pay for an 01, 02 or 03 number is 5p per Call - not so much per minute and connection.
As you can get inclusive evening and weekend calls packages for £0.00 per month over line rental, you have the choice whether to pay extra for inclusive daytime calls or use 18185 for those daytime calls and pay just 5p for however long you are on the call.
0845 calls are also a lot dearer from mobiles.
Virgin Media for example charge 7p/min + connection charge - therefore that is a premium over the cost of calling a standard number.
If you see 0845 - you see SCAM same as 0870, 0871, 0844 and 070. People mostly avoid these scam numbers.
OK from BT lines it is 2p/min daytimes + connection fee - however when you can call a standard number for just 5p no matter how long you are on the call for seems a pointless way of trying to earn points. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
