Surperdry - refunds

I went into the shop recently with a view to purchasing a pair of trousers for the OH for Christmas. However, I was told that they only exchange or give a credit note, not an actual refund.

Is this allowable?

Yes, unless the goods are faulty there are no rights to return. Many stores have their own policies so by giving exchange or credit note is more than the legal requirement

Yes, perfectly allowable... unless the thing is being returned because it is faulty.

You have no statutory right to a refund just because you have changed your mind. Some stores do go beyond that statutory right.
  • Yes it is.

Thanks very much. I have now agreed with the OH that he will have them after Christmas as that way he can try them on rather than me just buy them and hope they fit.

But if the only issue is that they might not fit - then you could just go back in for an exchange for the correct size anyway. You wouldn't need a refund?
