Virgin cold calling

Options
I have phone and broadband with Virgin, but TV and mobile with other companies. Every month I get some annoying bod from Virgin with a stupid robotic voice calling me to try sell me more Virgin products. I've requested they stop calling but seems that won't happen till I take up TV and Mobile with them too. It's bloomin annoying. I was actually thinking of moving my TV to them when Sky runs out in a few months but am now thinking of leaving them completely simply because the marketing calls from India or somewhere with the irritating robot translator voice are just too much. They have managed to market themselves out of any more money from me which I reckon is the opposite of what they intended. Anyone else sick of these robotic sales calls?

    Registered here?

    http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/index.html

Do so, wait for the recommended time and they should stop pretty quickly...
  • Thanks for that but yes, I am registered there. It's a Virgin phone line and the only calls I get are from Virgin. I will reregister and see if they stop. To be honest it's not the calls themselves that irritate me as I know they have to make money and are quite polite when I say I haven;t time for the call, but the silly robotic voice that they use is very very annoying. I realise it's clever technology to be able to translate that fast but it sounds like a Speak and Spell machine from my youth!

Registering with the TPS won't make any difference if you're already a Virgin customer. They are allowed to call you.

You should try contacting them to see what options they have for opting out of marketing calls. All reputable companies should have some kind of marketing preferences database.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
  • Tell them you don't ahve a TV, and you are tied into a 24-month contract for your mobile. That's what I did, and haven't heard from them since.
