New York City Pass

I'm going to New York in June for a week with a friend and obviously want to make the most of the time we have there and go to as many places as we can. I've read a few posts that mention the New York City Pass and New York Pass. I wondered if anyone had any experience of using them, and what sort of advantages they have. Is there a big saving?
