Car Insurance - Named Driver Discount ?

Hi, hoping someone can help.
I'm 35, I've been the 'named driver' on my wife's insurance policies for the last 6 years (the amount of time I've had a full UK license) on two cars.
For the last 4 years I've been the 'named driver' on her work car.
A couple of months ago we separated and as I have two young kids I bought a car.
The problem is I'm now faced with astronomical car insurance quotes due to the fact I've never built up any official No Claims Bonus due to just being a named driver. In my time as a named driver I've never had a crash or an insurance claim whatsoever and with having kids in the car I drive very carefully.
Can anyone provide any info on any car insurance providers who could help in this situation, I've tried the usual price comparison sites but still very high quotes coming through ?
Thanks for any help

Many will give you some sort of introductory discount to reflect your experience.
See if a local broker (not swinton) can help.0 -
Many insurers will give you an initial discount which equates to circa 1 years NCD.
You could ask your current/ previous insurer where you are a ND given they know your history but otherwise it is more a case of calling round and see if anyone is wanting your business enough.... a broker is more likely to do you a favour but ultimately its a bit of pot luck0
