Help!!...my cars broke!!

Water keeps "boiling" even after a 10 minute drive!Milky traces in water though no oil,hoping its not the head!!....Any ideas?

  • I did that but its not coming out of the radiator,the water seems to be getting really hot and coming out of the top of the expansion tank.

    Could be the pump! Check to see if thats working (don't ask me how though), if it's not working then the water in your system wouldn't be flowing arround and therefore would start to 'boil'.

    Just out of curiosity, what car do you drive?

    the water pump wouldnt explain milkyness in the water...sounds like the head gasket

    does the car have a water to oil heat exchanger ?
  • no its a renault megane 1.9 diesel,sorry steveo don`t know mate....scatz,i got told the pump makes a real whining noise if its gone and its not doing that.

  • The water/coolant in my KA has always boiled (even after fairly short journeys) since brand new, done 55k in it now. Is this not normal then?

    im deffo no car mecanic, i no where the petrol goes and thats about it,

    BUT,i have actually had something like this on cars before, was something to do with air i think, just took of the cap, ran the engine so the water boiled over, (which cleared the air blockage) then topped the water up to the coreect level.

    maybe that?
  • Sounds like it could be the head gasket,have it checked by someone who knows.
