My mum spends......... nothing on me or my older 2 children as they are over 21 (They have 9 grankids and 5 great grankids). My youngest gets £15 as do the other under 21s. Although she did give us a small box of after eights for my dinner table seeing how shes on a cruise with my sis.... but OH ate them same day.

I dont get her anything either though as times are tough for all of us and she is retired but my step dad still works and they have a mortgage to pay. I dont buy for my grown up nephew and niece either just for my nephews son whos only 4 and i spend about £15.

My MIL is different she spends around £100 on me and OH and the kids get £50 - £60 each to spend.

As my eldest are 21 and 24 i spend about £50 - £60 on each of them and about £80 - £100 on my 15 yr old.

I certainly wouldnt give in to any demands for large pressies or lots of money being spent on them, likewise i wouldnt ask for anything either.

My parents spend around £80-£100 each on me and my sister (25 and 27). I don't demand anything though, my mum asks me for a list and i ask for a few small things. I honestly wouldn't mind if they spent less especially as they have my daughter to buy for too now.

I spend about £200 per child even though they are 27,25, 23 and 14. They do all still live at home though, once they move out it will be scaled down. Till then we will just do Christmas as we have always done it. They don't demand though, in fact they get all "surprises" as they don't actually ask for anything in particular. Then in the case of the older three I top it up with a cheque each.

Same ages as my 4 step children. Their Dad and I will also be giving them £100 each, and they will get loads from Grandparents and their Mum too so i think they will do okay:D

I think we will carry on giving them that for a while too, we are quite poor but they don't get much else from us all year round.

I give cash to my children so that they can spend it in the sales after Christmas. I spend £40- £50 each on my grandchildren after finding out what they want/need.

I can afford to do this but they never ask for anything, it's my choice.
