Niavely I purchased a gift for my wife from
https://www.laperle.com
Paid on my credit card billed in US $'s
Goods arrived...from china!
Definate counterfeit goods even though site stats 100% authentic not faux not replica etc
Contacted my credit card company..they say la perle they have not yet taken the money.
I have asked them to put a stop or a querie on the payment though they have said they cannot do this they have to honour the payment...at any time for up to 6 YEARS
Where do I go from here anyone know?
It is too late to send goods back (I ordered it a week before her birthday) ...they allow 14 days before "exchange" minus postage and packing and handling costs but won't tell you how much they are
HELP!

the CC company will only act if the company refuses to - I think you should contact the company telling them the goods are not as advertised and you want a full return of money. If the refuse, then claim through the CC company.

Do you know if the company can imply conditions such as postage and handling costs on the item returned being as much as the items bought so therefore you get no refund?0

that's not right. provided that the claim is for over £100 it can be made directly against the credit card company as long as you could make the same claim against the company you ordered from. section 75 of the consumer credit act is your friend in this case!

I read this on the net
"Misrepresentation [of a fake as genuine] is a ground under the law for claiming against a credit card issuer," says Mark Bowerman of the Association for Payment Clearing Services if you have unwittingly bought a counterfeit product costing more than £100 and been unable to get redress from the supplier, you can make a claim against the card issuer."
I still am unsure if the company themselves can put handling costs on and state return only within 14 days when the goods are not as described. I don't wish a refund as they are faulty or not what I wanted...I want a full refund as they are sold as authentic and they are counterfeit

They might claim that, but that would only apply if you just disliked the goods and wanted to change them. If there is something genuinely wrong then you should insist on a full refund.
Common sense is to contact both your credit card company and the company selling the goods. The credit card company will only get involved if the merchant does not behave properly.0 -

I contacted trading standards direct by phone but they have said because it is not within the UK they cannot deal with it0
