Mondeos eat catalyic converters ive done quite few classic symptoms are the car wont pull and your lucky if you get over 30 to 40 mph.0

guess i'm going to have to face facts that i need to take my car to the garage later this week. many thanks for the suggestions, i will try to suggest them to the mechanic to avoid being ripped off!0

last serviced at around 75000. only done 86000 to date.
May be plug leads...they're overdue a failure and they are not replaced as part of a service. £40 or used to be for a genuine Ford set from the main dealer and I'd not use aftermarket ones as the Mondeos have a large spark plug gap that puts a fair amount of stress on the plug leads.0 -

just an update - took the car to kwik fit and was a snapped wire which connects to my engine. £50 all inclusive to fix, thank god!
