IIRC mortgage debts was being paid off in record numbers just the other month.
IIRC mewing had dropped significantly last month.
Not the same think as debt being paid off.0 -
Pathetic!!
I could lose £46 a month down the sofa and not realise ..... get real, people!Bringing Happiness where there is Gloom!0 -
Given whats occured since 2007, I'd seriously suggest that anyone who plays the "affordability" card has to spend a time out on the "didn't really think it through" step.
What's an affordability card?
You know when you write this stuff and in your mind it makes perfect sense? I hate to break it to you but it doesn't quite read that way.0 -
What did you do Daddy when all those VI's and Nimby's looked after themselves and stuck two fingers up at everyone else?
Nothing son; what could we do? It just wasn't worth it. Had a good moan on the internet though.
Ok, I can see the point you are making.
But I'm baffled as to what you believe people should do?0 -

Write to their MP. Ask why it's possible for BTL landlords to make a profit by supplying benefits claimants with housing but the government can't.
Check local planning permissions. Submit positive comments.
When you hear about a Nimby protest taking place against a new development turn up with placards in support of the developers.
Never sign a Nimby petition. I once refused to sign another parents petition against a mobile phone mast. Every other parent signed it. When I said there was no evidence of childhood cancer being caused by mobile phones and we needed a better signal anyway I was lucky to escape unscathed.
Get saving. Make sure the lack of a mortgage deposit affects someone else.
Small things with limited effects but I always feel better when I do something.0 -

You must be thinking of another article, maybe from two years ago.
Recently there was a report showing mortgage debt repayments reaching record levels.
No doubt you might acknowledge it in 2 years time
