The bank won't "borrow" you the money.
You know what, you are 100% right. I'm sure if the OP was to correct this little mistake the bank would suddenly change their mind.
Find something more useful to do with your time you muppet.I'm not bad at golf, I just get better value for money when I take more shots!0 -
An offer of £120k on a £29k salary is very reasonable.
I would suggest you do a Statement of Affairs OP to figure out if you can truly afford it."The only man who makes money from a gold rush is the one selling the shovels..."0 -

About a hundred years????? His brother is giving him the depositScience adjusts its views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved.

Alternatively....if the OP displayed this casual attitude towards accuracy on their mortgage application as they have displayed on their post, it's no wonder the bank won't lend them any more than £120k.
Or, if they genuinely don't know or understand the difference between "borrow" and "lend", I'd suggest they're intellectually unsuited towards a mortgage at all.0 -
But still does not explain what he does with his spare cash each month.I reckon this will be less than £100 after paying his £1,600 p/m rent. Although with a mortgage payment of £1,400 he should have an extra £200 p/m to spend on other stuff.
I don't know about your guys but this does not make sense to me. Where does he get the extra money for other expenses like food shopping, gas/elec, water, ctax, travel, clothes & and many more.0 -
It appears the OP's deposit was £115k back in March, which might explain matters. OP, looks like you're living beyond your means.0

They have intellect tests for mortgages now?I'm not bad at golf, I just get better value for money when I take more shots!0 -
A mortgage for the house I'm looking to buy wouldn't even be 1400 with repayment....?
Some of us are old enough to remember double digit interest rates.
Have you considered renting and then buying in a cheaper area?Been away for a while.0 -

Sort of. Why else can your man only get £120k?!?0 -
But this person thinks that buying a three-bedroomed house is what they must have. With a gifted deposit, and a dwindling one at that. Crikey!0
