Employment Tribunal - Date for Hearing

Just wanted to add in case there's any animosity between yourself and anyone who may be there - the waiting rooms are separate for the different parties, but all the other areas are communal (ie toilets, receptions, lifts) Mainly it's fine, but as my whole team were male, I had to use the toilets at a cafe down the road after being cornered by someone in the loos and I had to have someone accompany me everywhere after I was collared in the lifts by myself too! Hopefully yours isn't a nasty case like mine was, but wish someone had given me the heads up (however flaming obvious it is!) so I could have made plans beforehand!0

Luckily there was no nastiness involved with my claim, not so sure they'll be happy now tho!Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind. They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.0

I had to take my previous employer to a tribunal which was held at the beginning of December. I was a bit nervous leading up to it that I wouldn't be fully prepared and the judge would be expecting me to know things I didn't and that it would all be very formal. It was actually a very easy thing to do though. The judge was very nice and quite informal except in the parts where she was required to be formal such as swearing me in before I gave evidence. She explained what was happening as things went along. My advice would be not to worry about it, take whatever documentation and letters you think might be of help, better to have it than not, and ask questions during the tribunal hearing if you're not sure of anything. I got the impression that the judge and tribunal process was designed to NOT scare people out of making claims and felt that they did what they could to put me at ease. Don't stress about it and you'll see how straight forward and simple it is. Good luck.0

Just another quickie.... what does my previous employer have to do once they've received my claim? do they have to fill a form in, in a set period of time? Will I get to see what they have said about it?Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind. They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. Little update! Lady from ACAS rang, said my previous employer has till 13th January to respond to the claim, apparently he has tried to contact me (pfft, I think not) and couldn't find the paperwork when she spoke to him (no surprise there either).
She said it is likely they will settle before it gets to the tribunal, I can't see them wanting to go to all that hassle, which is good news, but I know they will leave it all to the last minute like everything else!Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind. They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So far, so good, looks like they are going to pay up! Just got to sign and forward the paperwork
I would strongly advise anyone having the same problems to go to CAB and ACAS, they have been so helpful!
I nearly didn't bother, am so glad I did
