PPI claim help required

Hello,
I bought a brand new car from Renault when I was 18 back in 2003 and was told due to my age I had to take out their CreditCare 1 protection basically a PPI. Otherwise, I would not qualify for their finance. The finance ended in 2006.

The loan was taken out with RFS which is not RCI finance believe.

Do i need to claim against RCI or the dealer? Hoepfully not the dealer as PGC Renault have gone bump!

Any help would be great on this.

Also when i was 18 i got a credit card from HSBC. The lady adviced me to get ppi incase i lost my job etc with me only being young. It was was on for years! I think it actually may still br on.

Can i claim from hsbc also? As at one point i had over £4,000 on my credit card so the protection was costing me a lot per month.

The dealer. I am afraid your purchase was also not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme as it was too early.

That may or may not be the case. It would be a question of what the evidence showed.

That would affect the redress if it it is upheld but not the decision whether to uphold the complaint or not.

So am i right in thinking the car claim is a non starter really?

Also i spoke to hsbc and they have given me an address to send my claim to. It also turned out it was still active on my account, so they have removed it from today.
