Orange Mobile Complaint

I was wondering if anyone could help with the following:
I bought a mobile phone from Orange store for £120 on 16th December and as part of this was a pair of "Angle and Curve" headphones as part of a deal.
I was using the free headphones in my laptop and they totally disintigrated in the headphone jack of my laptop. I took my laptop to the orange shop to be told that there was nothing they could do about it but the guy stood there trying to get the bits of headphone out but managed to shove them in even further.
I was directed to a local laptop repair shop and the guy said the laptop is now a writeoff because the headphone jack goes through the motherboard and would need to replace it...
I am not sure what to do nbecause Orange are washing their hands of it.... I would like some help with this. Thanks!
