Rather concerned.....

Options
Hi,
I ordered a PC on december 7th, which I had built by a company called DinoPC.com, I paid £35 for it to be built in two days and £25 for Fedex delivery - Total cost was £1020.00
The PC was delivered on December 16th, this was not a great start but I let it go.
Upon turning on the PC all was good, 30 mins later, it had shutdown and will not boot up again. There is power to it as the lights come on but apart from that it is dead!

I've tried to email the company on various different emails including their online form, I've tried calling their sales, customer services and technical help line but have had no answer from any of these.

Luckily I paid with my Barclaycard Mastercard, I've read about section 75 and Chargeback - am I right in thinking, as this PC is not fit for use and I can't get in touch with the company, then I can effectively reverse the transaction through my credit card?

Although I've read up on the details I'm really unsure where I stand with this.

If all else fails, send a letter explaining your complaint and send it recorded delivery.

The cc company will work with you to resolve the issue by contacting the company for you. You do not have to accept a repair as you have not had time to accept the goods. You can insist the CC or the company refunds you, which if the company doesn't the CC will. They may insist you send the PC back, with the costs being added to the claim, not sure if the CC would be liable for the return postage although the company would be. If the CC get no response from the seller then the S75 claim will default to you.

    You have a few options:

    - reject it under Sales of Goods Act for full refund

    - return under Distance Selling Regulations (7 working day cancellation period from date of receiving goods)

(i'm sure this isn't classed as personalised.... or is it? if so, the first option is available still)

Whatever you do, make sure you do it in writing and can therefore proof it.

If it's made from off-the-shelf components, then you ARE covered by DSR
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.
