I went into Birmingham city centre and found a big tub of mincemeat. 10p!!! Popped it in my basket and strolled around looking for more bargains. The basket was really heavy - I anticipated the walk back to the office. Then I remembered I don't particularly like mince pies. Then I recalled I can't cook.
I put the tub back......

In the Slough store today I got tubes of Cadburys 'animals' and mini fingers for 10p, packs of 4 butterfly badges 23p, singing santa hat toys £1, a popping candy terrys choc orange 50p, xmas cards 25p (had the recycled ones and peppa pig) mini knitted stockings with choc snowmen inside 10p, small bag of haribo santas 10p and tubs of cheese footballs and mini cheddars. Down the cake aisle i also got christmas mini rolls 15p and festive flake cakes 20p. Also a very nice lady stopped me and gave me some boxes of rowntrees fruit pastilles that were down the confectionery aisle marked at £4 but scanning at 50p.
They also had some plush toys, large choc coins and some other sweets. Some were by the electricals and some by the bakery. The mini cheddars were at the end of an aisle just past the stuff by the bakery.

Thanks! My local had the 1kg tins by the front door, so I picked one up. Read your post as i was going round the store, and spotted an abandoned 1.6kg tin. Needless to say i swapped the one in my trolley!GC: £40 a week. Sticking to my budget, but never remembering to post in the relevant thread.
Probably buying toiletries that I don't need, as I can't resist a "bargain."
