Made redundant and have been replaced

Hello I was made redundant the end of September,. through this board I found out I was entitled to redundacy pay, which my employers paid when questioned.
I have now found out that I have been replaced at work about 3 weeks ago. It was a part time job as a housekeeper that I held for two years. My job ended because the owner said she was going to clean the house herself. At no point did she say she was unhappy with my work and I got on with the family well.
I think i have been unfairly dismissed and would like to know what i should do next? What is involved? I would like to persue this, I know it was only a little job but its the principle. Could someone advise?
Thanks

How long a gap was there between you going and the new person starting? Did they start 3 weeks ago or did you just find out 3 weeks ago?
If the former, with two months between events, there's nothing to say that they didn't, for example, try cleaning the house themselves and then change their minds. They had no obligation to offer you your job back in that situation.0 -
The new person started about three weeks ago apparently. I left end of September so it was a gap of about 6 weeks.
I dont think they ever had any intention of cleaning the house themselves. The husband of the person who now cleans is employed by them in another capacity, he replaced someone else in the Summer. I think it was all planned, but of course proving that is impossible.0 -
If they are likely to provide you with a good reference, then I personally wouldn't take any further action. I agree with the other poster that they may have tried to do it themselves and then decided against it. The new role may even include some elements that you didn't do that they may have thought of since. Life is somewhat unfair but sometimes in a good way as well as a bad way. Your great opportunity may be coming into your life soon. I think you need to move on mentally from your old job and embrace the new. And I have been made redundant twice and it is painfulm and like you I have stood up for my legal entitlement but there comes a point where you just need to wish them all well.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

I think you are probably right whitewing though it is a bitter pill.
Thank you for your kind words.0
