Garden Fence and Paving Quote

Options
Hi all

Please can you tell me if you think this quote is fair?

I have 10 - 2ft x 2ft paving slabs (i'm providing the slabs) that I'd like laying in a straight path 2 slabs wide by 5 slabs long.

Plus a 3.5 ft high picket fence and gate to go across my garden which is approximately 15 feet wide.

I've been quoted £1400 - which is made up of:

Materials £550
Labour £600
Finishing £250

Thanks

Labour charge would suggest 4 days. Either 2 men 2 days or 1 man 4 days. I think this is too much; the work should take 2 days with 1 man, max.

Materials for 15ft fencing and gate should cost £100 trade so £200, materials for path would be MOT aggregate, and mortar. I don't expect he is edging the path? Materials for path would cost £50 or so trade, £100 billable. Skip hire to take away dug-out soil for slabs - £140 billable.

So I would expect the work to be done at approx £750 total, maybe up to £900 depending on materials and level of finish. Try freeindex, getagardener and browse landscapejuicenetwork.com and search members in your area on the member map.

    What is 'finishing?
