mis sold appliance insurance ??

When i brought my kitchen years ago i also purchased all the appliances, along with the insurances with Domestic and general. The cooker and hob have now bit the dust. Domestic and general have agreed a settlement which I am reasonably happy with, However I have 2 separate policies and it has now come to light in the event of my claim, that I have been paying twice for the cooker and is is on both policies. Domestic and general are currently dealing with this ut i want to know where I stand with getting my money back due to paying for a policy that i did not need!!. Domestic and general have said that the reason they did not notice that I was covered twice was because the two policies came up on separate screens and not on the same screen together under my name and address which is why they never picked it up. Obviously Im not as smart as I thought I was for not realising until I needed to make a claim. The amount I have paid out in error but in good faith comes to over £1000 which is why Im persuing it. Any advice would be welcome.

It doesnt sound mis-sold. Why did you take out a 2nd policy , you said you paid it in error, but who's error is this? You wouldnt have been advised to take it.0

Im not sure if i was mis sold it which is why i put the question marks. I simply took out the insurances that i was advised to do at the time by Magnet believing them to be correct, that was my mistake as the cooker was already covered on one policy and therefore i did not need the second policy. Domestic and general have admitted that it would not have happened if ALL details had been contained on the same record.0

I take it you have "won" with one policy?,if this is the case, ask them to compensate you for the second one,it looks to me this is their error and not yours.0
