Transfer Virgin emails to Windows Live?

I use Windows Live Mail to access my Blueyonder emails. When I installed an update of the Virgin Media Trend antivirus it deleted my emails from Live Mail.

They are still all there when I access through the Virgin Media website but I can't see how to copy them in bulk back to Live Mail.

The Virgin man in India says I have to do it one by one, but I shall be here til next Christmas at that rate.

Any ideas, please?

Thank you, I'm not really sure where to go next.

I want to get my emails imported into Windows Live Mail and I click on "Import messages". Then it says Where from and gives me a choice of three:

    Microsoft Outlook Express 6
    Windows Live Mail
    Windows Mail.

I want to get them out of blueyonder.co.uk/mail but this does not seem to have an export facility.

The only way I can do it at the moment is to open each message in turn and forward it to myself.

    Hope I've explained my problem!

    Thanks,

Not sure what to enter here to get it transferred to xyz@blueyonder.co.uk when I'm running Windows Live Mail, is it just my blueyonder address?

Enter the address (@hotmail.com or @live.com) and password you're copying to:

I find that hard to believe!

If the e-mails are in your Blueyonder inbox, then Windows Live Mail client will fetch them to your computer, providing the anti-virus is not stopping this.

    Ignore the Virgin idiot!

Sorry, ignore that advice. I hadn't read your question properly. That link will not do what you want!

Errm, so you have email on blueyonder and want to get it back into Windows Live Mail. Do blueyonder allow you access the emails using IMAP? If so, thats what you need to do... set up a new account in Windows Live Mail using the IMAP settings that blueyonder supply.

I don't know if these settings are still valid... but this process would apply to Windows Live Mail in a similar way to Outlook Express. I would strongly recommend using IMAP and not POP3 though:

    espresso,

    That's very useful. Thank you.

When this trouble first started I did get an error message once referring to a calendar error but it never appeared anymore after I received my first new message after I had updated. Is it possible something is blocking emails received before the date I updated my antivirus? (It wasn't just an update, Virgin have changed the provider).

Very easy way to do it i'll get back to you in a min.

Ok log into virgin email, Go to settings, Forwarding and POP/IMAP,
Enable POP for all mail (even mail that's already been downloaded) Put tick here,
Save changes and wait a few you will then get all mail.

Only 75 emails in mine so just done it again i'll let you know how long it takes.

Forgot to add you need to check all emails so they turn yellow, Then do the above, it works right away.

If you are sure that the loss of these e-mails is related to the Virgin Media Trend anti-virus update, then do a system restore to a date before the update.
