Corsa tyre pressure
I have a corsa, 1.2 bog standard car. ive read trye pressure for the car is 30psi. However I read that most cars should have around 40psi as this makes the tryes last longer. Is there any truth in this? Also is 30psi for my car correct??

Go by what the car manufacturer says. Increasing tyre pressure to 40psi will alter the physical characteristics of the tyre and will result in increased tyre wear and more chance of a blowout.
30psi sounds about right for a Corsa but check with one of the Vauxhall Owners Forums for accurate details."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
Ditto. Stick with the manufacturer recommended levels. Over pressuring your tyres can save you fuel as there is less rolling resistance, however you also get less grip too, and the tyre is more likely to fail. This time of year don't risk it.0

What age Corsa according to I've got a C and according to the Haynes manual it should be 32psi front 26 psi back.
Unless it going to driven fully loaded in which case its35 front 30psi back0 -
Between 26 and 32psi is about right, although whatever the manufacturer says goes really. I've never put as much as 40psi in a car the size of a Corsa before. Front and rear tyre pressures can differ, too.0

The only time I've put 40PSI in a car is with a boot full of luggage and 4 people in it as per the manual recommendations. When I drove it the following week before lowering the pressures back to 30PSI with just myself and the wife in and an empty boot it felt very unstable at the rear on corners.0

It makes the outside edges of the tyre last longer than the middle bit0
