wd40 or alternative?

I've always stuck with wd40, but it seems to be getting more expensive all the time.
Any one know any good deals on it or can you recommend a good alternative?

I use Wilkinsons 'Maintenance Spray' which seems to work just as well.
Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.
  • Why are you using so much? im a maintenance engineer, and get through about 3 tins a year! if you want to oil something, then use Oil. wd40 has some lubrication qualities, but its not ideal for a lot of the applications is gets used for.

It's also a de-greaser, so has a negative effect if you squirt it somewhere that's been greased or requires grease for smooth operation.
  • Poundland or Poundworlds always seems to have it.............I think it cost a pound ;)

Use it on cars for seized nuts and bolts.
Also good for cleaning off components before drying and copper slipping.

Have you considered buying a 5ltr bottle and hand sprayer?
Cost about the same as 4 aerosols, but 10x the amount or more.
