TV on wall

Hiya,

I'd like to get my tv put up on my wall however it's going to cost me around £100 from comet. Just wanted to ask whether I could just do it myself? Can't find anyone that would do it for cheaper :(

  • buy a bracket (under £30), drill holes, fit bracket, add TV.

    Cost:
    bracket - £30
Drill - £20 if you don't have one and can't borrow one
    Lager - £6.50

Buy the appropriate bracket and fixings depending on the wall being solid, plasterboard, cavity etc.
  • Yeah, I guess that would be the only problem - need to check the wall beforehand.

Bang it, if it sounds hollow, it probably is. Would suggest anchor bolts for a brick wall if its a hollow wall, would try and find the stud. Cant imagine and plasterboard screws/fittings would work on thinner boards might get away with it on 12.5mm

Glad you didn't forget the most important bit....

Although maybe start after you've put the lag bolts/screws in....wait for it..... I heard it's illegal to drink and drive.
  • the OP will be on private property so it's fine to drink and drive ;)

How much is your TV worth and how good is your house insurance? £3,000 massive plasma + cheap naff home insurance company = don't try DIYing it to save £50. :D
