Good morning all
I have re-boarded my kitchen ceiling this weekend ahead of a plasterer coming to skim it at the end of the week.
Where two of the boards meet, there is about an inch gap where i unfortunately made a mistake when cutting the measurements.
Should i prepare this for the plasterer ahead of time and what is the best method? If i scrim the gap is that enough?
If not, could i use bonding or filler of some kind?
My other thought was to use a thin strip of board to fill the gap.
Thanks
Also, juts double checking on this, there are two sides to plasterboard, the grey paper side and a white side (normal plasterboard). I have put this up with white side face down for skimming which i presume is okay?
Thanks again! :j

Does your gap run across the joists? If it does, it is going to be hard to fill this., because one side and the other will flex as it is filled, with a large hanging fillet. You stand more chance if it is adjacent to a wall or along a joistHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Hi DVardys. It is along a joist.
Thanks0 -
the plasterer will know what to do. he may well cut an inch strip of PB and insert it.
with some tape over the top, it should be fine.Get some gorm.0 -
thanks ormus.
I'll leave it for the plasterer to look at in that case.0
