Yes, I got my expensive quotes from the dry cleaners. These days they apparently wash them in water, not dry cleaning fluid, but it's a drop off and collect service.

At the laundrette they have big machines and it's self service so you do the washing and drying yourself.

We have local laundrettes that offer drop off service (pick up in a couple of hours) or DIY, and can fit king sized duvets in. :) Afraid I can't remember how much it costs though as I haven't had to take one in in a long time.
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.

I suppose the cheap ones are cheap enough to bin every year, but I bought a more expensive one for a few good reasons. It's anti-dust mite, it's significantly warmer than the cheap ones and it's one of those two part duvets so I can have three possible thickness configurations and it's suitable to use all year. Anyway, the being warmer is reason enough for me, I was always cold with the cheap duvets, even when I used two thick ones at the same time. We would also struggle to throw out four duvets a year as the bin already has plenty of stuff in it normally.
  • Well i went for it, neither of the duvets are particularily expensive but one of them says do not tumble dry - they washed it and attempted to dry it however it got caught in the machine so pulled a little. Fella was adament that i shouldnt pay for any of it - v kind - however i did feel i should pay for the wash, after all, im not throwing it away!

So for 13, i got both washed and dried - bargain!!
