As it happens, I have quite a lot of knowledge on this topic, having done this sort of work for a living.
From your previous comments .... the word, bodger comes to mind!0 -
And you would know how, exactly? I suppose this is the part where you claim to be a professional? Go for it, I could do with a laugh. Do you even know how a condensing boiler works?"There may be a legal obligation to obey, but there will be no moral obligation to obey. When it comes to history, it will be the people who broke the law for freedom that will be remembered and honoured." --Rt. Hon. Tony Benn0

Do you know the difference between Latent Heat, Sensible Heat or the first Laws of Thermodynamics. All I think you need to know is that the flue gas temperature of a Condensing boiler is significantly lower than that of a conventional boiler (a boiler without an economiser section). Thereby maximising the heat transfer from the energy mimimising the exhaust gas losses which is the defficiency of a conventional boiler
A condensing boiler will always return a high efficiency no matter what the return temperature, although will be at maximum if at the dew point of the boiler exhaust.
Saying that the piping and radiator system needs changing when a Condensing boiler is installed is stupid unless there is a fundamental design flaw in the system.
You need a little bit more education before making rash statements.0 -

Oh dear, you don't know how a condensing boiler works, do you? And not realising that I did an engineering degree at university, you misguidedly believe that throwing around a few technical terms will make you look clever. You've failed. All I think you need to know is that the flue gas temperature of a Condensing boiler is significantly lower than that of a conventional boiler (a boiler without an economiser section). Thereby maximising the heat transfer from the energy mimimising the exhaust gas losses which is the defficiency of a conventional boiler
Not if your system water temperature is too high for the condensation phase to occur.A condensing boiler will always return a high efficiency no matter what the return temperature, although will be at maximum if at the dew point of the boiler exhaust.
This is just plain wrong.Saying that the piping and radiator system needs changing when a Condensing boiler is installed is stupid unless there is a fundamental design flaw in the system.
There is a fundamental design flaw - the system was designed for a boiler, the peak efficiency of which occurs at a higher operating temperature. A condensing boiler only achieves it's superior efficiency at a lower operating temperature so, yes, the system is fundamentally flawed from that point of view.
I'm not sure this is what you really mean though, because it has become clear you don't know you're talking about. I'm afraid your armchair googling and "what I reckon" posturing is no substitute for degree-level academic training and practical experience, both of which I have."There may be a legal obligation to obey, but there will be no moral obligation to obey. When it comes to history, it will be the people who broke the law for freedom that will be remembered and honoured." --Rt. Hon. Tony Benn0
