Japanese imports - effect on insurance and price ?

My experience has been the opposite.
For example my old Jap spec 1999 Subaru Legacy, came with a television, DVD satnav, factory fit HIDs, cornering lamps and a different dashboard with a triple DIN, oh and two turbos.
Ok but I named several, you've named one. On balance, I still think I'm right chap.
GTO/3000GT another example. UK spec car had over 300bhp a lot more than the top spec Jap model.
Subaru brought in different engines for the UK/Jap spec cars for a while thanks to emissions rulings so that's your problem there. The UK cars went 2.5L where Jap cars stayed 2.0 for a while as you needed to make the engine bigger and do less work to get round the regs. It's true that there's lots of weird base models over in Japan, but they tend not to get imported. Anyone fancy a 1.8 litre non-turbo 4 cylinder Skyline with 90bhp?
Or a 3000GT 'Stealth' with something around the same. That was my point entirely.
5t.What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0
