Lights in my flat have died - Do I go to letting agent or Landlord
Comments

They do look similar yes.
I think they'll get it checked over anyway given the shower thing, the agent was concerned at this.
Its the original box from the 80s and I know the landlord has never lived here so he probably knows no different.
We'll see what happens anyway, agent said they'll be in touch and it will be sorted this week, have got people coming over friday night so hopefully will be sorted by then.
Thanks for all your views on this.

Hmm... "this week..."
I'd be tempted to go out to B&Q or an electrical supplier tomorrow and spend a few quid on replacement fuses. Just make sure you put in the same as what you take out.0 -
Right.
Letting agent sent round there handyman yesterday, not a full blow electrician but knew his stuff.
Put a fuse in and bang straight out again, seems there was a loose wire in the lounge light so although it was that fuse it would of kept going, he had the light down and fixed it then put a breaker in the box rather than a fuse. All seems to be working now.
Thanks for all the suggestions.0 -

That's interesting. I'd always assumed that, in order to have circuit breakers rather than wired fuses, you needed to have a completely new box. Is that not the case or have I misunderstood?0 -
Some fuse boxes can have breakers substituted. A cheaper way of adding breakers which are more convenient (though no safer) than fuses. That's interesting. Cannot be done on all boxes though.0 -
Think there was a screw or 2 and a straight swap.
As for the shower, it was just miss labeled and definitely on its own breaker.0
