know your body food allergy testing (groupon deal)

  • I know this isn't really the issue, but this kind of thing is rubbish. Allergy diagnosis is pretty specialised (not to mention that genuine food allergies are rare). This sounds like nothing more than a gimmick designed to get you to spend further on 'special diets' once your 'allergies' have been 'diagnosed'.

With regard to getting your money back, OP, keep on at Groupon.

Indeed, and Groupon really need to stop giving any credence to these things. If the company isn't an out and out scam, they are likely to just make the results up. Which is the same outcome as acutally doing the 'test' - "you have a defiency in ____ so you should buy X from us"

They may or may not make the results up at random, or genuinely believe their allergometer can really tell your complex body's specific immune response from a bunch of dead proteins heavily treated with chemicals.

They will almost certainly, however, just happen to have a range of products suitable for treating/managing your supposed conditions.

Completely agree with Malkie and Fluff.....it's pseudoscience, there's no way that they can diagnose "alllergies" from your hair sample. I have a few serious allergies and if I eat (for instance) Brazil nuts, the only part of my body that isn't affected is my hair!

They probably can tell if you have nits or dandruff, though I doubt that anyone needs to send off a sample to diagnose either of those conditions. :rotfl:
