jvc Everio hd camcorder

Options
Hi,
I have just purchased a jvc hd camcorder but when i play back the videos on my computer they seem to lag a bit.
I am wondering if it is due to the sd card that i have put into it.
The sd card i am using is a sdhc but should i be using sdxc card.?

Thanks

What matters is the speed or class of the card. If it's not able to work fast enough you will get stuttering. Try loading the video onto your pc and then playing it.

The sd card i am using is only class 4 so i think this maybe the problem so i will have to buy one with a higher class.

Doesn't have a built in HDD then.

As others have mentioned copy it to the PC and buy a faster class card, although what shutter speed did you record with?

I used to watch my videos and they seemed all blurred, I changed the shutter speed to a really longer delay without realising (i.e 1/15) and everything is jerky, once it was at normal speed it was fine.

Personally I hate my everio, I don't like the .MOD file extension, but for a camcorder it comes in useful so I keep it.

    I have the MG330 Model (I think IIRC, - 30GB HDD)

No, the XC stands for Extended Capacity; so only refers to the size of the card and not the speed. So don't worry about it.

If they aren't 'lagging' when you play them back on the unit, tell us more about your computer. Perhaps it's not up to playing Full HD.

Using Media Player Classic - Home Cinema to play the videos might help.
