hi everyone, i contacted my old mortgage company (rbs) to get my account number, the mortgage finished in 2007 so i decided to ask them to see if i could get my t and c and account number, i sent a £1 cheque with my letter and recieved a letter and my cheque a back a few days later saying the cant give me the info cos the account has finished and has been closed, they have asked for current account and sort code and loan account number and sort code but that it why in asked as i dont have them anymore, Any ideas where i can go from here

I presume you are looking to reclaim the cost of the PPI.

I dont think im entitled to it but i would like the information just in case, I havn't decided what to do yet im just interested.0

You could try making a Subject Access Request (which will cost £10). They are obliged to send you any information they hold.

The method you used was wrong. £1 is for active agrements regulated under the consumer credit act. It does not apply to repaid debts or those not regulated by the consumer credit act.
Why are you asking for a copy of your mortgage offer letter? There will be nothing on there with regards to insurance. You are just wasting £10.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Thanks dunstonh, i know that now,got my reply today with the cheque i had sent to rbs so i went onto my internet banking looked through my statements and found the account number and the dates which i had paid, so i have asked for staements of the account and the terms and also the account number which the payment was taken and dates, is there anymore i can do to get the info, Thanks again0
