Hi Guys,
Thanks again for all your helpful comments.The_Swerve wrote: »The website does have the following:
How much does it cost?
After you have submitted details of your Loan Agreements you will receive written confirmation of the exact cost that will be involved. The cost is 30% of the amount reclaimed plus VAT. However this is only payable if the claim is successful.
Did you receive this written confirmation?
No. I did not receive any written confirmation. In fact I received no paperwork at all except for a basic form to fill in and send back, and when I say basic I mean basic. It was just a few lines for the account number of the loan and my signature. They did not provide me with a second copy. They did not provide me with terms and conditions. They did not tell me I had 14 days cooling off period, and they certainly didn't send me any written confirmation of the 'exact cost that will be involved.' I only received their 'Request for Payment,' the first notification I had had of their costs, after the claim was successful.
The form was the only paperwork I had other than two texts on my mobile telling me the status of my claim. I did not even have a letter heading with their address on, and at one stage I did wonder whether it was a scam because there was literally no paperwork. No acknowledgement of my claim except by text message.
There may be information on the website but surely this should have been provided in paper form since not everyone has online access! I did not approach them via their website - they contacted me by mobile phone. They got my number from my car insurers.0
