Fed up of feeling this way. How do i change it?

I constantly feel down in the dumps. I worry about everything and currently do not enjoy anything. I hate being alone as I dwell on everything, but currently feel unable to socialise.
My daily routine feels like a struggle and I feel like a terrible mother. I have no focus in life despite having applied to university and end up in bed before 9 every night just to stop myself from feeling down.
I have a lot going on in life at the moment that's hard to deal with and have money worries. Yet I just can't see anything positively at the moment. I am ruining a good relationship and am dreading Christmas.
Has anyone been through a similar experience? How did you change things?
I have barely any friends I can talk to and don't see my family. I feel like I am falling into a big black hole, with no clue how to stop myself.

change your life and lifestyle, turn all those negatives into positives, turn your frown into a grin
Everything seems bad because you're down. You have children, you have your health, you are able bodied, you have a partner that cares about you to some degree. There are millions out there that would kill to have what you have
It sounds like you want someone to sort things out for you, thats not going to happen, people have their own lives to worry about0 -
I have felt like this in the past and it's awful feeling so out of control and incapable of doing anything ((hugs)). Go to the doctors. It sounds very much like clinical depression to me RainbowDreamer but you need to see your GP. I know some people think they're over prescribed and used. but anti depressants really helped me.0

I'd tend to agree, if you are feeling so low and you can't pull yourself out of it, go to the doctors, they will assess you and see if you need more help. At the very least you will get someone you can tell all this too and you may get very real help.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0

Given your other threds about ex I would be amazed if you were NOT feeling down.
So step one is to acknowledge it is a normal thing, given everything you have going on in life!

Blimey, remind me not to come and ask you for any help when the chips are down!:(0 -
I know it sounds silly, but I am avoiding doctors as it may hinder me getting into uni. I know I won't feel like this forever, I am just struggling at this time. I have been on anti depressants in the past and hated it.
I bought st johns sort months ago, after reading reviews. But haven't taken any so far. Id love to be able to just pull myself out of this. Just feels impossible currently.0 -
Why will going to the doctors hinder you getting into uni? I can't think how it will have any bearing.
When you get to the point of not being able to pull yourself out of it, you need help from elsewhere. There are lots of different anti depressants so if you hated the ones you were on before, there are others to try if your GP deems it appropriate. I've never tried St Johns Wort so i can't comment on that but i think you really do need to talk to your doctor. There are also talking therapies available. Being depressed makes EVERYTHING harder. Including uni work.0 -
SJW can mess up oral contraceptives so take care with that one.
Many people with many mental illnesses go to uni and "mild depression" is the least of it. I don;t think it will affect your chances at all.Debt free 4th April 2007.

It won't hinder getting into uni. I'm at uni with severe depression and everyone is so helpful.:heartsmil

If I get offered a place its conditional to health checks. I am just wary of any recent logs on my file stating depression. It's an NHS course, so I thought they may not take someone on who is seen as suffering from depression.
Having said that, its very likely I may not be offered a place.
Another reason I do not want to see my doctor is all this going on with court. The last thing I need is to give him yet another thing to use against me to point me out as an unfit mother.0
