Cheap /Cheapest Flights to Australia?? Help!!!

Im planning to go Australia for a Work/Holiday trip in February (though flexible). I have just applied for the Visa starting from 8 January. Being relatively skint, I need to find the cheapest flights possible. The trip will be One way. I dont even mid where in OZ, since I am open to various destinations within the country. Where do I look? The cheapest I have been quoted is £780 (including taxes-despite my flexiblity). I am more familiar with booking package holidays around Europe hence my lack of knowledge/naivatey. Surely a one way flight to OZ must be cheaper?

I am flexible BTW-Willing to travel from anywhere in UK (ideally manchester though) fromthe 8th January to the end of february. Your help is Invaluable and if somebody finds me an amazing flight price-I promise I'll send you a smallish paypal present . Thanks ;-)

Are you sure Oz will let you in on a one way ticket (even with a work visa).

    I have found the following:

London Gatwick with Air Asia to Perth 24th Feb £456 (Would need to pay extras with Air Asia for food and entertainment)
Manchester with Singapore airlines to Perth 14th Feb £548 (Sinapore airlines includes all entertainment and food onboard)

I loved Perth but everybody is different I will be back out there in Feb lol.

    Or

If you wanted to fly to Melbourne

London Gatwick with Air Asia to Melbourne 26th Feb £516
Manchester with Sinapore airlines again to Melbourne 15th Feb £565

    Or flying to Sydney

London Heathrow with China airlines £507 or fly with Malaysia airlines for £569 26th Feb
Manchester with Sinapore airlines £572 on 16th Feb

If you want to fly from Manchester in January there are good prices to Perth at £555 on 25th Jan with Sinapore airlines

Hope this is of some help :)

They will as long as you can show you have enough funds to puchase another ticket to leave the country.

But the OP doesn't seem to have the funds to purchase a ticket even to get here!
  • Yeah I think you either need an outward bound ticket or something along the lines of 2000 Aussie dollars to be eligible to enter the country.

Btw if you're looking for work you may struggle this time of year in Melbourne. I would suggest Cairns but it may be a bit too hot.
