Leaving a will

Options
My mother who is 75 would like to change her will, or a part of it...she went back to the people who did it a few years ago and they want £50 to make changes...Is there anywhere that she can get a will done for free, or at very low cost ?

To be honest, £50 seems like a reasonable sum to make sure that her wishes are recorded accurately and that the changes will have the necessary legal authority to stop there being any dispute over her intentions.
  • Hi,

if it's something simple she could just add a codicil, as long as it's witnessed.

    There's a sample codicil here - https://www.mariecurie.org.uk/Documents/DONATE/Codicil-1009.pdf

Change section 1 to show the changes she wants to make.

See whether that will cover the alterations otherwise £50 seems very good value.
