HI
I have never owned one before and there are so many out there.
I have a 3 bedroom terrace house with condensation on all the windows and sills every day. I can't ventilate more than I already am, so a dehumidifier is the way I'm going.
Please recommend for a 3 bedroom house and one that is not too noisy and reasonable cost to run.
Thanks for any recommendation or advice.

Have a look here http://www.ebac.com/ I have one and i have found it to be excellent and i would not consider any other make.0

Can't recommend a dehumidifier personally but there's some ideas on keeping condensation down and where the water vapour comes from on this site
Drying laundry indoors seems to be biggest condensation producer.0 -
This is another site worth looking at.
http://www.harfordsonline.com/downloads/condensation%20info.pdfI used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
I have looked at the ebac's but they seen a little heavy for moving between upstairs and downstairs: out of the models I have look at they seem the heaviest.0

You can buy castors / wheels. The extra expense is annoying I know and not much help for stairs. I have an ebac which is brilliant but you are quite right; it IS heavy but I live in a bungalow so it is rarely moved from its central position.0 -

Why move it?
The one we have is left upstairs. It is a bit noisy, but is on a timer and only comes on in the daytime.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
i also have an ebac and pleased with it, it does the job.0

Amcor and Ebac have been probably the best selling makes over the years. A lot of models in the market still use compressor technology, these tend to be quite heavy and can be noisy.
The newer models are based on dessicant technology and these are much lighter and very quiet in operation.
We have an Amcor compressor based dehumidifier which is getting on a bit, weighs a tonbut still does a good job.
Last year we needed another one so bought a dessicant model a "DD122FW Simple". It does everything it says it will do, is quiet, light and relatively cheap to run. Having had this one over a year now, i wouldn't buy another compressor based model. Take a look here;

I leave mine on my landing and the good Thing with ebac is that it has smart control to save energy0
