SimplySwitch problems
Within an hour of using SimplySwitch to swap my gas/elec supplier from EDF to NPower I emailed SimplySwitch to cancel this transfer. I received an email from them 2 days later saying they could not cancel any applications and I would have to contact NPower direct. This has become a bit of a problem as NPower have not returned any of my emails to confirm cancellation. Has anyone any suggestions on what I should do now, and comments about SimplySwitch not accepting my cancellation!

The new supplier will contact you giving you your opportunity to cancel under your legal rights.Within an hour of using SimplySwitch to swap my gas/elec supplier from EDF to NPower I emailed SimplySwitch to cancel this transfer. When they do, contact them (the new supplier) and cancel.
The new/intended supplier may be a little confused as you have only just applied and the supplier may not have yet started your application (so effectively don't know who you are)
You may also probably be contacted by the old supplier asking if you really wanted to switch. That may also give you an opportunity to cancel, but my first suggestion is the preferred route.
This is not a simplyswitch problem. They are simply agents in the process. You asked them to start switching you and they have now initiated this. It is not their problem you have now changed your mind."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
The new supplier (NPower) did contact me, but only to invite me to go paperless billing. My point about SimplySwitch is that other agents (energylinx) have a facility that enables you to easily cancel within a set period of time by return email, so I assumed that was standard practice for decent suppliers.0
