Successful PPI claim

I have just recently received notification that I have been successful in reclaiming some PPI. However I am concerned over the amount of their charges (30%). The amount won back is over £11000 so the charges are some £4000, that's a lot of money for doing not very much by all accounts. I am considering offering only 10% see if they will take it, I will also push for an itemized bill for these charges and if they cannot justify their 30% then I may let them take me to court. I'm not afraid of "BIG COMPANY" and as always money is the most negotiable product on the planet. I would welcome any feed back from any one who has done this or is considering it

Thanks
The Sapper:)

You received a service and now you don't want to pay the charges? Did you agree to the fees or did you say you'll "think about it if I win"?

If it's a lot of money for not doing much why did you use the company? You could have DIY ....

So why did you sign up for the service if you had concerns.
The amount won back is over £11000 so the charges are some £4000,

You may well find they take more as claims companies are subject to VAT. So, its their rate plus 20% VAT.
that's a lot of money for doing not very much by all accounts.

    It is.
I am considering offering only 10% see if they will take it,

They have a contract in place where you agreed to pay them a higher amount. Claims companies are quick to take non-payers to court and they will win.
I will also push for an itemized bill for these charges and if they cannot justify their 30% then I may let them take me to court.

There is no legal requirement for them to justify it and they will take you to court and they will win.

As much as I dislike claims companies, they have every right to be paid for their services that you foolishly agreed to. Complaining about it after the event is too late. You should have been more careful when you started.
