Best Place to buy a new windscreen

I have been given the task of finding a new windscreen by one of my mates but I have no idea where to start. Need it for a good price, so any ideas?
Debt free since July 2013! Woo hoo! The bank actually laughed when I said I have come in to cancel my overdraft.

Yellow pages. Look under windscreens. You'll probably find pages of them.

    Cheap? Local scrappy.
... But of course you'll need the tools/knowledge on how to get it out in one piece and more importantly how to fit it to your mate's vehicle.
Which is why windscreen companies exist.

The mate's insurer's would usually recommend a repairer if asked, even if your mate isn't covered fully comp. If that's the case, let the repairer know it's not an insurance job and they'll usually do a deal.

  • Yes I am working my way through the yellow pages at the moment.

You might find that this is not the case anymore unfortunately. Several members of the forum have reported to have had their premiums increased after claiming for a new windscreen.... :(

    Is this a car/van/wagon?
Yes, I usually tell it as I see it and respond where I see the need, but never are my comments ment to be taken personally.

autoglaze online is good. Autoglass gave me a quote for £500 to replace a front window for a MG ZR, autoglaze did it for 150 and came around on the dot, no messing about.
All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.
